  • Eb (she/they)

Eb is a Filipina dancer, performer, and instructor born and raised in Los Angeles.

She began her dance journey 2018 in New York, where she started teaching, competing, and working as an entertainer. However, she really deepened practice at home, discovering and forming her language through solo exploration, dedication, and learning from artists she admired (Sammy Picone, Hali Quinn, Nirvana, Ashley Fox, and Yumiko Harris to name just a few).

She loves to explore texture and sensuality in her movement, while focusing on small details. She finds inspiration in the way natural forces move, like tides, orbits, clouds, and sometimes natural disasters, incorporating these themes in the details of her movement. Dance has been an essential form of her self expression, and she loves guiding students to connect to their own voice and pleasure in their practice.

Her credits include working with artists such as FKA Twigs, Snoop Dogg, Mount Westmore, UMI, 070 Shake, Karol G, and Saso. Outside of dancing, she’s just a sensitive Sagittarius with a love for eating, escaping, and trying new things!

Forever evolving her practice, she continues to bring her sweetness and openness to any set, stage, or studio.

  • Jacqui Ray (they/she/he)

Jacqui is a Brooklyn-based performance artist and movement teacher focused on guiding people toward introspection and self-reflection. They have a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from San Francisco State University with a heavy emphasis on performance art and psychology. While most of their dance background is self-taught, they have received semesters of training for modern contemporary, jazz, and afro-Haitian dance styles.

They've been competing and performing pole dance since 2019 and teaching pole and flexibility classes since 2020. In both of these sectors, they find opportunities and success in guiding students and audiences toward greater self-awareness and reflection on an emotional and physical level.

Many of these themes are approached through their virtual and in-person workshops, such as "Unfold" and "Reconnect". Incorporating journaling and mindfulness practice, their teaching and creative work bring people closer to their selves – shadow and ego alike.

When they're not in the studio, you may find them at a park, a concert, or at a fancy restaurant/cafe.

  • Cassandra (she/her)

Cassandra is a Haitian dancer, aerialist, performer, and instructor based in Brooklyn, NY.

She was introduced to pole in 2019 during winter break in Graduate School and has been hooked ever since. Earlier into the pandemic, pole has been a strong outlet for her during a period of global trauma. That time focusing on pole was a way for her to explore the beauty of movement and strengthen the connection she has with her body, which is also her goal as in instructor.

Cassandra loves exploring and connecting shapes in her movement. Music is also a source of inspiration for her. Playing around with the textures of sound along with the emotions she experiences during a section of a song helps deepens her connection to movement. Music being an extension of her.

When she is not on the pole, Cassandra loves listening and discovering new music, eating out at restaurants with friends, and expressing her creativity through fashion.

  • Nirvana (She/her)

Nirvana is a Portland-based movement artist whose pole journey began in 2015 as she ventured into the strip club for the first time. She had never danced before, but her background in sports made the learning curve of being a self-taught dancer very intuitive.

Four years into dancing she began teaching, but shortly after, lockdowns came and she had to pivot! With no more work at the club and very limited in-person interactions, she shifted her energy to teaching online. This shift allowed her to finally cultivate a personal practice outside of performing and gave her an opportunity to exponentially expand her skills, knowledge of self, and experience in teaching.

Nirvana has grown to love the incorporation of breath work and meditation on the pole which deepens her sense of presence in the mind and awareness of her body. In this state of being she immerses into the soundscapes of music and explores the vast levels of intention and detail she can experience with each fleeting moment. As a teacher, she guides her students with prompts and movement modalities that invite them to enjoy this sense of presence and creative power.

These days Nirvana travels world-wide to teach workshops, instructs for various pole and wellness retreats, performs with live musicians, and dances in the clubs when she’s at home in Portland, OR. Her movement studies have also expanded into Contortion, Hand balancing, and Aerial Arts. Outside of movement, she’s enjoying off-grid adventures to connect with the natural world, doing photography, making art, experimenting in the kitchen, and enjoying quality time with friends and family.

  • Medusa (she/her)

Hi there! I'm Medusa, a queer, black woman, SWer, artist, and lover of all things sensual and serpentine! During my childhood, I was an artist of many forms: piano, oil painting, pottery, anything you can think of, I was indulging in it. Whenever I discovered movement, I always admired belly dance, ballet, gymnastics, and many other styles. I would try to imitate what I saw on TV and would watch in music videos; dance sessions in my bedroom mirror became a ritual practice for me. My mother was an exotic dancer, and although I didn’t know too much about what the job entailed at the time, there was something so alluring and beautiful about the work that captivated me even at a fairly young age. Shortly after I graduated high school, in the summer of 2014, I decided to dive into the world of pole dance, and little did I know I would be beginning the greatest shift I had experienced thus far in my life. I was instantly in love and became addicted.

Growing up as an artist of different forms, something about this dance tickled all of the most important parts of my brain, and I felt deeply that I would continue to pursue this, and grow in this art form forever. After all, the arts are what got me through all of the experiences I faced throughout my childhood, and this felt like the first time I had true power of my own autonomy. Nine months into my pole journey, I decided to spread my wings and began teaching as a pole instructor at a local studio, and working as an exotic dancer. During my now almost 10 years of experience, I have explored the competition and performance world of pole dance, and worked many different floors. Over this time my essence has developed and taken full flight, my passion has grown even larger, and my style was born one session at a time.

My artistry and methodological approach (have been born of the thousands of voices, students, fellow SWers, teachers, and experiences I've been blessed to encounter during my years in these industries. commitment to self, heart, and community drive me to remain disciplined in this world. I am a forever-student of many forms and I have learned and continue to learn and nourish myself and others through my experiences. At the core of my passion as a teacher, I thrive by being able to create spaces where others can explore, discover their true sensuality, find enjoyment and pleasure, and develop confidence in themselves through the art of pole dance. I am an intuitive and spiritual teacher. My teaching techniques are rooted in safety and crafting beautiful, organic movement for each individual frame who enters into my teaching space. As for myself, I am an emotive, erotic, and sensual dancer, and I strive to make others feel, whatever that may mean.
